The below artworks and various images are the ones responsible for many of the thematic, compositional, or stylistic choices I made throughout the pieces in my exhibition. The works are titled as descriptively as possible, however for many I was unable to cite, due to the fact I found many of these on Instagram and Pinterest, without any artist credit. Several images share a common origin, such as the photos of American Psycho, which helped form The Abdications of Morals and Sanity in the Pursuit of Wealth, or Takashi Murakami's work, resulting in An Anatomical Study of the Nervous System and the Soul. Hieronymous Bosch's portfolio is yet another that had immense impact on my piece Our Collective Ascent into Hell, but his art influenced the way my theme was developed throughout this exhibition as well, and thus deserves a mention of his own. I reveal my artistic inspirations, muses, and predecessors in hopes of demystifying the creative process, and making steps to eliminate the falsehood of truly individual or original art.
